Silverbirch Hardcover / Poster Release

26/01/2010

Silverbirch; A Tear in the Fabric of the Night Sky – the Collectors Hardcover Edition is now available from various online bookstores.  The easiest way to find it is to click this link – http://bit.ly/silverbirch – and then choose a store.  Once in the store you will probably see the Silverbirch Paperback artwork consisting of the underbelly of a mushroom.  Find the link that says “Hardcover” and it will take you to the new artwork consisting of a red background and a nine-year-old Nudge first finding the Silverbirch mushrooms and pages in the old abandoned house.  My close friend Ken Taylor did the artwork for both books and I am really impressed with how freaking awesome he has become.

Also, if you’re extra keen, a signed limited edition (100 copies) A3 poster version of the hardcover is available for you to purchase and frame from this link – http://bit.ly/silverbirch – It’s $25 including postage and although this is the first time I have promoted it, the poster has been available from the website for a few weeks and now there are 94 left.  Regardless of the numbers, I am only making them available until June 30 this year.  If there are any left on the 1st of July they will be destroyed.

As for the Silverbirch Podcasts…  I’m having a lot of fun creating them, although it is very time consuming.  I think the story comes to life in a whole different way though, once you download each episode from iTunes and listen to them on your iPod.  If you close your eyes, some say it’s even better than watching a movie because you see the characters the way your soul wants to see them.  Just don’t close your eyes and listen to it if you’re driving.  Now that I’m getting the hang of creating them I have just remixed and remastered the first three episodes.  I will be remixing and remastering episode five this week, before starting work on number six.  So.  My point is.  You should probably delete the versions you have in your iTunes collection this weekend, and re-download them.  I think the new versions sound much better.

For those of you who have gotten this far, first of all, well done.  Second – I know there are a few of you that still don’t get what Silverbirch is about.  So, I’ve come up with a new spiel for you, to try to tempt you once more to get involved and come along with Nudge for the ride…

Silverbirch; A Tear in the Fabric of the Night Sky is a story about a young man named Nudge who, as a child, finds a mushroom with a red lightning bolt image naturally built in to its black-gilled underbelly.  Little does Nudge know that finding the mushroom has been predetermined.  It is Nudge’s destiny, as controlled by a higher power watching over him.  You see, Nudge has been chosen as the savior of this world and the next and the mushroom with the red lightning bolt is the only way to open a gateway to connect both worlds. When Nudge reaches the ripe age of thirty – he’s asked to fulfill his destined role.  The only problem is, once he realizes what is really going on, he’s not sure if he’s up for it.

You can read the first five chapters, and turn the pages on the screen like a real book, here – http://bit.ly/3gl3bq
